As the moment of truth, arrived I felt an immediate connection with Eric Benet, as I approached the green room and shook hands with him. We sat on a leather black loveseat and locked eyes in a one on one interview. The 2009 Grammy nominee , has always posessed the ”IT” factor, had the right words for the ladies and a love movement. As I started our interview, I felt his calmness from within exude the room. I embraced his presence and fed off his energy as we talked about his life, music, and love for his beautiful daughter India and much more. Check out my one on one interview .
Stylista KT: At what age did you begin singing and what inspired you to become a singer?
Benet: I have been singing as long as I can remember. I’m the baby and all my older siblings would sing and figure out harmonies to songs, and play instruments that was just the environment I grew up in . So I was probably singing before I was talking. I knew I wanted to become a singer probably somewhere along the time I realized I would hear music and arrangements and stuff in my head. I thought everybody heard that stuff. Somewhere around the age of 14 or 15 I wrote my first song. (Pauses and laughs) I know it was just family and friends but they were feeling it and I was feeling it, so I was like I think i would like to do this.
Stylista KT: What’s your formula for staying successful with the music business?
Benet: Authenticity. Not trying to chase a sound, and not trying to keep up with what’s hot at the moment. Just staying real with whatever passion it was that made you fall in love with the craft, listen to that.
Stylista KT: What’s do you see as your biggest accomplishment that your proud of in your music career or personal life ?
Benet: (pauses and smiles) What I’m most proud of in my life is my daughter and the way she is and the woman she’s turned into. In my music career, I’m just proud of the fact that after 20 years I’m still basically unwavering still doing the same damn thing I did before how I used to do it and people are still feeling it. So I’m proud of that!
Stylista KT: If you had a once in a lifetime opportunity to make a difference or change the world what would do or how would change the world?
Benet: (Thinks to himself.) A puppy for everybody ( We both laugh and I agree that’s a good one!) I don’t know that’s like a real difficult question i think probably if i could just wave a magic wand and people were able to really listen to where the other person is coming from . If somehow I could make people feel more empathy for other people’s situations you know there would probably be less discourse in the world.
Stylista KT: What’s your favorite song to perform on your tour and why?
Benet: On this particular tour my favorite song to perform is “Chocolate Legs”. “Chocolate Legs” is one of those songs that was released before the album was released I tested it. It’s one of those songs where the first time I played it people never heard it before and they just loved it.
Stylista KT: Yeah, that is my favorite song off the album and I had to ask you about it.
Benet: Why thank you. ( Smiles.)

• DMX collaborated with Gym Class Heroes on his 1999 hit “Party Up.”
• Ludacris and Scarface represented for the South with “Guess Who’s Back” and “Southern Hospitality.”
• Mary J. Blige and Method Man reminisced over “I’ll Be There for You/You’re All I Need to Get By.”
• Dressed as LL Cool J, Rick Ross took the stage to perform “Hustlin’.”
• Trey Songz filled in for Nate Dogg by performing “Regulate” with Warren G.

Gym Class Heroes, Wale, and KRS-One covered the Beastie Boys’ “No Sleep Till Brooklyn.”
• Foxy Brown and Fabolous closed the show as part of an all-star medley.

Chris Brown and Mary J Blige to perform and Michael Jackson Tribute in Vienna
It has been reported by Rolling Stone: “Jermaine Jackson hosted a press conference earlier today to finally reveal part of the lineup for the Michael Jackson tribute he’s hosting in Vienna later this month: Mary J. Blige, Chris Brown, Akon and Natalie Cole will take the stage in Austria on September 26th. Sister Sledge, German boy band US5 and actress Angela Bassett, who portrayed Katherine Jackson in the film The Jacksons: An American Dream, will also appear at the tribute concert at Vienna’s Palace of Schönbrunn. According to Jermaine, the list of performers announced today represent only one-quarter of “The Tribute” lineup; he’ll reveal the remainder of the bill at press conferences this week in London, Berlin and Paris.”
Wow sounds like it’s going to be a great tribute concert! Michael deserves it.
Chris Brown and Mary J Blige set to perfrom at MJ’s TributeLabor Day weekend in Atlanta was a blast and GossipinBitches.com was wherever Ludacris’ TEAM DTP were. This was a great event Ludacris gave back to the community once again to the college kids at Clark Atlanta University. This was such an uplifting event for the college after a student was recently killed on campus.
There was free food, performances, and free global awareness packages. Artists that participated to help give back were: Chrisette Michele, Dee Woods of Danity Kane, Playaz Circle, and DTP’s very own Rock City crew…and many more great performers. The city’s largest Hip Hop Radio station also came out as a sponsor Hot 107.9 FM…this was an event to truly experience for yourself…that’s why we brought you the up close and personal pics so that you can see what a joy it was. Spike Lee put together a celebration worthy of a king in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park. Despite the rain, hundreds even thousands of people stood to listen to MJ’s music, watch intimatations of his dance moves, and listen to speeches given by public figures such as Reverend Al Sharpton.
According to eye witnesses it was truly a celebration they will not forget.

DJ Unk had a heart attack at age 26?! That’s crazy! In case you don’t know who he is, he did the song “Walk it out!” What I want to know is, how the people who were with him at the time were on Twitter Twitin’ the whole time? If I’m having a heart attack and you are with me, I need your undivided attention! Tweeting is officially out of control! But, I just can’t stop!

According to the TMZ report a friend tried to reach him after no luck for 2 days. They called the police and the police knocked down his door to find him dead; surrounded by drugs. He was found this afternoon around approximately 5:20pm in his Manhattan Apartment.
This guys survived a deadly plane crash last year along with Travis Barker and now he basically gave up his life to drugs….sad, sad! RIP DJ AM!

Or Calvin Klein underwear ads or maybe General Hospital…Well, that’s him back in the day maybe 19 yrs old. Well, he’s now 37 yrs old and FINER! He has a reality show on VH1 called “My Antonio”. This is a captivating show only because he’s pure I-Candy and his emotional ex-wife is on the show trying to win him back!
It’s one of the more interesting dating reality shows because there is real emotion with people who have a history. Antonio’s mom is a hardcore don’t F*cK with my family kinda lady and she does not like the Ex wife Tully. The mom actually asks one of the other girls to “Get Rid” of Tully because she doesn’t want her son to get back with him….Whooooa what a Italian to the Bone…gettin rid of people! Great show you gotta watch it.
