Lady Gaga’s also leading the 2010 MTV VMA nominees with 13 total nominations. The VMAs haven’t even been given away yet, but Gaga’s already “won” two distinctions: She received the most nominations ever in a single VMA year, and she’s the first female artist nominated for two different videos in the Video of the Year category for “Bad Romance” and “Telephone” featuring Beyoncé.
Eminem racked up eight VMA nominations, including “Best Male Video,” and “Video of the Year” for “Not Afraid.”
Lady Gaga has always come off as being a little weird or I guess a little different, she is covering the September British Issue of Vanity Fair Magazine and for once she looks a bit normal.
There has been alot of controversy surrounding the new collabo video “Telephone” with Beyonce and Lady Gaga, because of the gay message and demonic imagery. When questioned by Power 106FM radio station on why she felt MTV wasn’t playing the video this was Ms. Bey’s response:
“The video in a lot of ways is more about her even than it is about me. It was sort of a pop-art venture for me to bring her into my world in a way, the video is an attempt for her and I to erase pop music as we know it up until this very point. It’s meant to change the perspective of the world on what a pop music video should be and she’s kind of the vehicle for that. In reality, more people around the world are familiar with her aesthetics than they are with mine. It was something for me to kind of change the way that you see her for one video.”
You know how when an artist comes out and they are literally every where on errbody song wearing us all out???… Well, the latest newbie’s that we’re about to start getting sick of on everyone’s songs are Keri Hilson, Nicki Minaj, and Trey Songz! Damn, we already can’t stand Trey so we won’t talk about him but the team up collabs are becoming more bizarre like Lady Gaga and Beyonce or Lady Gaga and Trina. Now, Keri Hilson and Akon….? Weird…
Rihanna recently expressed to Mtv.com how she wishes she were from New York. “‘Empire State of Mind’ was definitely one of my favorite records of 2009 … one of the biggest records of 2009, also. It’s timeless. It’s epic, and it makes me want to be from New York every time I hear it. I’m like, ‘Wow, I wish I was in New York, or I wish I wasfrom New York.’ It’s just that great feeling when you hear it.” said Rihanna
Forget the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, let’s just get right into it. For starters, this was one of the best award shows of the year! There were more actual entertaining performances than drama and talking. Overall, all the performances were good. However, I must break a few of them down in no particular order.
Kelly Clarkson- Her outfit was hideous, hair look like she did it herself in a closet, and the make-up looked like she was late for Halloween. But, her vocals were incredible. She put to rest the rumor she had stolen Beyonce’s song Halo. That song didn’t sound anything like Halo. The song Kelly sang last night required real vocal talent. She nailed the singing part, but she needs to fire her stylist immediately!
Rihanna. (sigh) The wait is over? I’ll wait a little longer! Dry. Dry. Show. The song was boring, the stage performance was boring. And the outfit…. Awful! What was wrong with the stylist last night? Rihanna can dress herself much better than that. Every photo you see of her out and about, her outfit is on point. Okay, I won’t say every. But, for the most part Ri-Ri is a great dresser. The outfit last night was NOT reflective of her usual style. The vocals weren’t there… she tried! Hell, what else can I say. In her defense though, it was hard following Black Eyed Peas and Jay-z and Alicia Keys. Hell, they had already torn the roof off the place by the time she hit the stage!
Janet Jackson? I’m a bit bias. I’m a Janet Jackson fan. The performance was excellent. The outfit, once again was hideous! What is the deal? Who was dressing these people last night! I think the outfit really took away from the performance. I spent more time trying to figure that out, than tuning in to what she was singing or dancing about! Overall, performance was excellent! Come on, its Janet I can’t say anything bad about her!
Whitney Houston. (See Frankie(Keyshia cole momma), you can come back from Crack!) Whitney looked fabulous, sounded fabulous, everything about her last night was just FABULOUS! And HER stylist was on point!
Jay-z and Alicia Keys! Got-dog-almighty! I try so hard not to like anything dealing with that arrogant ass Jay-z! But, they tore the house down last night! Alicia on point as always, including her solo performance. Jay actually looked like a gentleman and not a 40 year old wanna be Jit with saggin pants. The song is hot and the performance was even hotter!
Jennifer Lopez.(ShakeMyHead) This has nothing to do with the fact she busted her ass! I mean, she played it off well and kept going. I had to rewind to really see that she had fallen. She just gave a lackluster performance. And, once again her stylist took the day off! The outfit was horrible and the hair…? What was up with the grandma hair due! Jenny need to go back to block and get her style back, because she lost it in all that money!
Adam Lambert! What in the H-E- double hockey sticks was that horrid mess he called a performance! The whole thing was a shitty-ball-mess! We know you’re gay, who cares its not that serious! The song was way too boring for the stage performance. I love me some Adam, so I won’t turn on him so quickly. His vocals were still on point, so he is definitely worthy of a second chance, okay maybe third or even fourth if necessary! I just thought he would come with a harder rock sound. That didn’t sound like rock, more like pop/rock/alternative/ something or another! I’m a disappointed fan. I expected so much more from him! He is a true talent!
Lady gaga! What in the FUCK is wrong with this lady! She is so over the top, at this point its just annoying! Breaking glass, burning pianos…. I can’t say much about her performance, I turned to Amazing Race!
That’s it for now. Like I said, overall it was an excellent show and all the performances were great! Great job AMA’s, a lot of these other award shows should take notes! Especially the boring ass Grammy’s!

Okay, this video made me a bit uncomfortable. This is a mess on so many levels. Bey can do better than this… Hell, Bey has done better than this! What is up with all the stripper gyrating and nakedness? Is it me, or did Lady Gaga start out singing her at the end?
I am a huge fan and I love your music. I understand, you want your stage performance to reflect your outrageous personality and represent the song your are singing. I get that. I understand, you what to keep the audience enthralled and completely entertained. I get that. I understand, you want every performance to be as memorable as the first. I really do get that!
But Katy, sweet Katy… What the hell are you wearing in this performance?! As a true fan, I ask that you please leave the extra hideous outfits to Lady Gaga!
