We Were just starting to dig Nicki Minaj’s look until last night at that B.E.T Awards show when she decided to come out on the stage looking like Wilma Flintstone. It’s nothing wrong with being different and we love that fact that Nicki thinks outside the box, but this look was not one of the one’s we could agree on.

Continuing in the new VIBE tradition of split covers, Nicki Minaj is one of June/July’s cover subjects. In the feature titled “Character Study” written by Siobhan O’Conner, rap’s latest “it” girl shares some interesting insight to her new found fame, female MCs before her and her weird voices. “I’m not abandoning the funny voices. I just did a crazy tribute to ODB’s ‘Shimmy Shimmy Ya,’” she says, perfectly impersonating the late Wu-Clansman. “But it’s coming up more with the album. I had a teacher in elementary who would stand on her table and whisper. We’d all turn around like, ‘What is this lunatic doing?’ But she would achieve what she wanted. She wanted us to stop talking and listen. I feel like I need to mellow it down so people can hear what I have to say.”

You know how when an artist comes out and they are literally every where on errbody song wearing us all out???… Well, the latest newbie’s that we’re about to start getting sick of on everyone’s songs are Keri Hilson, Nicki Minaj, and Trey Songz!  Damn, we already can’t stand Trey so we won’t talk about him but the team up collabs are becoming more bizarre like Lady Gaga and Beyonce or Lady Gaga and Trina.  Now, Keri Hilson and Akon….? Weird…

Lil’Mama went on BET and made a few comments about Nicki Minaj.  Now, alot of blog sites are creating a beef between the ladies.  I personally don’t see anything wrong with what she had to say.  Nor, did it seem like she was going in on Nicki.  She simply made a statement that applied to her and her situation.  What do you think… Is Lil’Mama being a hater?

This is what Lil’Mama said: “Nicki Minaj is a talented rapper. She’s out there, she’s doing her. What she represents, I don’t represent and she’s doing something different, that’s her lane. This was a video interview with a “gay” girl (Butch) who calls herself Nicki from the Bronx. She also claims in this video that she used to mess around with Remy Ma. This girl looks just like Nicki without hair weave, the nose job and the teeth and boob jobs and booty implants….listen to the voice, look at her eyes, mouth and cheek bones. This looks like Nicki Minaj to us….Nicki of course denies being gay but Sandrarose.com has called her out as well as Vladtv.com and now Gossipinbitches.com is calling her out. Be real Nicki we have mad respect for you knowing you went from this to what you are now that is something to be proud of. YOU TRANSFORMED YOURSELF – AMAZING and became a success.

Nicki Minaj has the women going crazy. If I think hard enough I’m sure I could come up with a million reasons why her buzz with the ladies is 100 times more popping than Lil Kim’s buzz was with the men. I blame the Internet. Women want to have their boobs signed by Nicki, and more women want to minaj. She sat down w/ Complex and talked about relationship and sex. Enjoy.

Complex: When people think of Nicki Minaj they envision stilettos, bustiers, and maybe a lollipop…
Nicki Minaj: This is the thing: I like being sexy when it’s time to do a show, but to be honest, I hate wearing high heels, and I hate wearing anything tight. People do get taken aback when they see me in person because I’m in the jeans and the little slippers. I think it’s cute when they see me transform, they see me go into my machine and come out as Nicki Minaj.

Complex: How do you transform for that special someone?
Nicki Minaj: Thigh-high boots or some real crazy pumps, some thongs, and curly hair, that’s it. [Laughs.] Nothing else—nothing less, nothing more.

Complex: What is it about curly hair that makes you feel sexy?

Manager of OJ Da Juiceman, Shawty Lo - Johnnie Cabbell

We received from our source a mass email sent out to talent manager Johnnie Cabbell of Hitt Afta Hitt email contacts. He currently manages Shawty Lo, Oj da Juiceman, Nicki Minaj, Crime Mob, D4l and others. The email is from an executive at Ozone Magazine who is claiming that Johnnie has done some bad business regarding a performance for Oj Da Juiceman. Gossipinbitches did a little research on Mr. Cabbell and found that he has a lot of titles and different companies which we feel is a little suspect, however, we believe in getting the real story and will be talking with all parties.

The email reads:

Hello,

As word has spread that we (OZONE Magazine) are preparing to sue Johnnie Cabbell and Hitt Afta Hitt for breach of contract on a recent OJ da Juiceman show after an unbelievable display of (in my opinion) disrespect and bad business on their part, we have been swamped with phone calls and emails from DJs, promoters, and media outlets (and even members of his own artists’ entourages) who have had similar issues with his company and their questionable business practices. It is surprising that, with all the support and media coverage we have given Hitt Afta Hitt artists over the years, they were unwilling to resolve the situation amicably, but it seems that we are not alone.

As part of our dedication to being “your favorite rapper’s favorite magazine,” we at OZONE always strive to not only entertain but inform readers about the true politics and pitfalls of the music business.
